Policies

Reservations / Deposit

Renters must be 21 years of age or older.  Reservations for accommodations and packages must be confirmed with a deposit. Credit card is the preferred method of payment for deposits and can be collected by an agent over the phone. E-payments and cheques are also accepted.  Reservations are confirmed upon receipt of deposit.  Required deposit is $200 for weekly stays, or $100 for shorter durations or special packages.

Cancellation / Refund

For reservations in July and August, a refund can be provided if the cancellation is received by March 31. For reservations in September to June, 30 days notice is required for a full refund.  Otherwise, all deposits are non-refundable for any cancellations.

In the case of a non-refundable cancellation, we will make every effort to re-book the cottage or package and provide a refund if we are able to re-book.

In the unlikely event that Cedar Grove Camp is unable to provide the reserved accommodation due to unforeseen circumstances, a refund will provided in full and we will make every effort to find alternative accommodations.

Upon Arrival

All guests are required to check in at the office prior to entering their cottage or campsite.  Guests will be required to complete and sign the Rental Agreement and Terms and Conditions for their stay; and provide a security deposit.

Security Deposit

Renters will be required to provide a credit card, and a security deposit of $300 will be retained in case of damage or excessive cleaning.  Security deposits will be released after review of rental cottage and/or equipment.  Renters will be notified if any charges will be applied.

Damage

All damage to or loss of any equipment including property, cottages, boats, motors, cottage supplies resulting from any guest will be charged at fair evaluation.  Security deposits will be required at the time of arrival for any damages. Cedar Grove Camp is privately owned and management will not be responsible for accidents or injury to guests, or their property.

Excessive Cleaning Charges

A charge of $100 will apply if excessive cleaning of your cottage is required.  Charges will apply for cleaning that takes our staff more than 3 man hours.  Please leave your cottage clean and tidy as you found it.

Payment

We accept cash, debit, VISA and Mastercard. Cheques are permitted if paid 14 days or more in advance.  All rates are subject to 13% H.S.T.

Check In & Check Out

Check in time is 3pm. Please call ahead if arriving past 8pm.

Check out time is 10am. Sometimes we are able to permit a later check out time. Please inquire during your stay if this is possible.

A $50 late fee may apply for unapproved late check outs past 10am. Please leave your cottage clean and tidy upon check out.

Pets

Pets are generally permitted on property and in cottages. Please indicate or inquire about your intent to bring a pet at time of booking. The owners reserve the right to refuse pets at their own discretion. (This may be based on breed, or other patrons at Cedar Grove Camp at that time). This will be identified at time of booking or before. Pets must be under control at all times. Well behaved pets may be permitted off leash, however, if any pet is bothersome to any other guest or perceived as a threat, you may be required to keep your pet on leash. You are required to clean up after your pet.

Please keep your pet off the furniture.  Additional charges may be applied for extraordinary clean up on property or in cottage. Pets are the responsibility of their owners, and Cedar Grove Camp will not be responsible for any accidents or injury to property, other pets, or guests resulting from any animal.

Linens

Guests are required to bring their own linen (pillowcases, sheets, covers or sleeping bags), or rent linens from Cedar Grove Camp.  Beds and furniture are covered with protective linens.  Any permanent damage or stains to these will be charged a damage fee.  Please let us know if these are soiled during your stay so we can replace immediately.

Boat & Motor Rentals

Boats & motors and other items are available to rent, and can be reserved ahead of time, or during your stay. Management reserves the right to deny rentals for any reason. You must have a valid boating license to rent a boat, or pass a proof of competency test conducted by Cedar Grove Camp management. Boats are required to be on dock before sunset, and gas will be refilled by staff only. Refills will be charged at cost.

Personal Boats

Private boats are permitted and will be subject to docking charges. Launching is available for customers. A 4 wheel drive vehicle is required for boat launching on site. Staff can launch private boats if needed, and may be subject to launching charges.  There is also a public boat launch on Commanda Lake.

Additional Guests

Number of guests in cottage should not exceed the maximum specified per cottage. Any additional visitors must report to the office upon arrival.  Additional charges will apply if number of guests exceed the amount shown on the rental agreement.

Smoking

Smoking is permitted on property, but please place butts in ashtrays and cans provided. Smoking is not permitted inside Edward’s Edge cottage.

ATVing

ATV’s are permitted on property but should remain on driveway (not on grass). Please ATV in nearby trails and limit use of ATV on property. Noise should be kept at a minimum. Guests driving on public roadways need valid ownership, drivers license and insurance papers. Cedar Grove Camp is not responsible for any damage or injury resulting from ATV use or on roadways or ATV trails.

Campfires

Campfires are usually permitted, however, the owners reserve the right to refuse the use of campfires. Firewood can be purchased on site at Cedar Grove Camp, at fair value. Fires must be extinguished at the end of the night, and when no guests are present.

Noise

Noise must be kept at a minimum, and quiet time begins at 11pm until 7am.

Liability

The Renter represents, warrants, acknowledges and agrees he/she will use the Property and its facilities in accordance with The Terms and Conditions and that he/she does so at his/her own risk and that he/she indemnifies and saves The Owner harmless from any personal injury, sickness or death, loss or damage, however caused, to person or property of The Renter, his/her family, or guests, before during or after the time of occupancy.

Further, he/she accepts full responsibility for the use of the Property and any recreational equipment such as boats and motors, etc. and agree to pay for any damage of said equipment, other than for normal wear and tear.

The Renter further acknowledges he/she is responsible for ensuring all Boating Regulations are observed, including having required safety equipment in the watercraft, as well as meeting current Operator Competency Requirements.
