Swimming and Water Activities
Enjoy swimming at our sandy beach, or off the dock. Our swimming area is fine for small children – with no weeds. Enjoy our swim dock & water raft, or one of our water toys including canoes, kayaks, stand up paddle board, or paddleboat.
Games and Toys
Children will enjoy playing in the extra large sandpit, which is ideal for beach volleyball, badminton, horseshoes, or other sand activities. The pit is loaded with Tonka trucks. Bocci ball, corn hole, and other games are also available for your enjoyment.
Fishing
Fishing in Commanda Lake is great. Fish for Pickerel (Walleye), Large and Smallmouth Bass, Pike, Catfish, Crappy and other pan fish. You’re sure to catch something while you are here. Enjoy fishing the nearby lakes such as Lake Restoule, or Stormy Lake which are both great for Muskie. Also many back lakes to choose from. Bring your own boat, or rent one of ours. Cedar Grove Camp has three large docks with lots of room for your personal boat. We have a shallow boat launch on site as well as the public boat launch on Commanda Lake.
Boating
Boats & motors are available to rent at Cedar Grove Camp, if you’re staying here as a guest. We rent 14′ aluminum boats, usually with a 9.9, or 15 Hp motor. We have three large docks, and a boat launch on site.

ATVing
Restoule has amazing ATV trails from novice to advanced. If it’s mud you’re after, there’s lot of that too. We will show you where to go, and provide you with some simple maps to get you on your way, so that your ride will be safe & you’ll be home in time for dinner and a little socializing. (Your own ATV required).

Local Shops and Restaurants
The Village of Restoule is just down the road from Cedar Grove Camp. Gerry’s General store has everything you will need, including groceries, gas and even an LCBO. Barton’s Bistro is our local restaurant with great food and friendly service. Port Loring has several more restaurants as well. Mill Bay Market is our local market and butcher shop – a must to see on your trip to Restoule.
If you like shopping, there are many crafts & artisans too. Check out www.loringrestoule.com for a list of more of our local area businesses. Stonethrow Pottery is just a short drive away. Board’s Honey Farm is right across the road and is a great place to visit or tour.
Provincial Park / Fire Tower Hike
Guests of Cedar Grove Camp can make use of our free pass for entry into the Restoule Provincial Park. Plenty of hiking trails are available at the park, and a great beach as well. We recommend the Fire Tower Hike – this hike takes about 1 1/2 hours with plenty of scenic lookouts. Hike high above Stormy Lake for a great view.

Golfing nearby – Northern Palms in Arnstein (Port Loring); Eagle Lake, and Highview Golf course in Powassan are all nearby.
